Prime Rib Roast

The highlight of any special occasion, a prime rib roast is a tender, flavorful, roast that is sure to be a hit with any crowd.

Prime Rib/ Standing Rib Roast

  1. Remove the prime rib from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cooking, to bring it to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

 

2. Mince Garlic, Rosemary and Thyme and place in a small bowl.

 

3. Liberally rub prime rib with olive oil and coat with herb/ garlic mix and pepper. Place in Roasting Pan, Bone side down.

 

4. Place in 450 degree oven for 15 minutes and then reduce heat to 375 degrees. Cook approximately 15 minutes a pound until desired temperature is reached. Remove Prime Rib from oven 5-10 degrees below desired finished temperature. Tent with foil and let rest for 15-20 minutes.

Rare: 120-125 degrees

Medium Rare: 130-135 degrees

Medium: 140-145 degrees

Medium Well: 150-155 degrees

Well Done: You messed up your Prime Rib

 

5. Cut the strings holding the roast together and remove the bones. Slice to desired thickness, and serve! Enjoy!!
